چکیده
It is known that coordination between joint movements crucial for the achievement of motor tasks and has been studied extensively. Especially, in sports biomechanics, researchers are interested determining which coordinated to achieve a task. However, this issue cannot be easily addressed with methods employed previous studies. Therefore, we aimed propose method identifying coordination. Subsequently, examined were using accurate overhead throwing, required reduction vertical hand velocity variability. Fourteen baseball players participated by attempting throwing motion capture system. The index each movement effect deviation one on quantified. Our results showed shoulder internal/external rotation angle (θ1-IE) other or horizontal flexion/extension angular (ω1-FE) coordinated. These could explained fact effects internal (θ1-I) flexion (ω1-F) larger than those movements. This meant it was necessary cancel deviations θ1-IE ω1-FE findings indicate proposed study enables identification multiple degrees freedom.

A preferred pattern of joint coordination during arm movements with redundant degrees of freedom.
Redundancy of degrees of freedom (DOFs) during natural human movements is a central problem of motor control research. This study tests a novel interpretation that during arm movements, the DOF redundancy is used to support a preferred, simplified joint control pattern that consists of rotating either the shoulder or elbow actively and the other (trailing) joint predominantly passively by inter...

By showing that transitions may be obviated by recruiting degrees of freedom in the coupled pendulum paradigm, the authors reveal a novel mechanism for coordinative flexibility. In Experiment 1, participants swung pairs of unconstrained pendulums in 2 planes of motion (sagittal and frontal) at 8 movement frequencies starting from either an in-phase or antiphase mode. Few transitions were observ...
متن کاملThe calcaneocuboid joint moves with three degrees of freedom
Introduction Investigations of the calcaneocuboid joint typically find that it is among the least mobile of the intrinsic foot joints [1]. When movement is found, it is shown to be highly variable among individuals [2]. The joint is therefore relegated to the presumably rigid lateral aspect of the foot. The complementary articular surfaces of the two relevant bones are both relatively flat, wit...

A mixed-domain schematic representation compatible with nodebased behavioral simulators is developed for rapid design of suspended microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Hierarchical models of several basic microelectromechanical elements are created. The components are interconnected to represent both devices and more complex systems. Using beams, masses, and electrostatic actuators as the fun...
